I have to admit, because i do not like to lie so very much, that THIS is one piece of late work. I am so sorry because i have not found the time during the weekends to complete this journal entry.Thus, that simply explains the "late-ness".Alright, guess i should be getting on proper now.~</span><br /><br /><br /><br /><strong><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">The significant thing that happens to be so significant actually happened to me today. Today is the day of my choir SYF (Singapore Youth Festival).The reason that makes it so significant is that we finally won a Gold for the school.<br /><br />I can still remember the question that my conductor had asked me and the rest of the choir committee members; "What is it you are aiming for? What do you want to get for your SYF?" This question was asked due to the fact that our choir was still not taking the SYF trainings seriously even though SYF was 3 mounths away.<br /><br />Some come up with so ridiculous excuses that even my dog would not believe. Some are even more straight-foward-they just do not appear for sectionals and trainings. (sectionals=a section of people from the choir coming together to practice without a qualified conductor of trainer, just one will lead the rest of them)<br /><br />My answer then to my conductor's question was a straight "Gold" without even flinching. Some said "Silver" because they were afraid of aiming high but achieving low.All of us had it in us to achieve a gold actually, it was just the self-conscious barrier that was affecting us. " If you want a Gold, u have to be fearless." And this was what pushed many beyond their limits.<br /><br />All in all, I can finally heave a sigh of relief that it is all over. And my hard work, together with the rest of the choir members has all paid off. Thank God. That means I would not have to take the trouble to wake up early and travel to school just to attend 3 hours of CCA training.<br />And that is if I am not required to go to school for some functions or rehearsals or some outside activity like flag-day or some entrepreneurship seminars.(which is USUALLY not the case! But I do get to enjoy sometimes.)</span><br /><br />As for the woes, most parents think that having tuitions for their kids are a must, they tend to like having their kids go for tuitions on Saturday which is supposed to be a rest-day for their kids as well. Thus, the 5 day work week does not serve its purpose as a 'family day' for the families in Singapore.<br /><br /><span style="color:#ff0000;">Some adults who work for the government do need that break, thus the 5 day work week has provided a good source of advantages for them. Whereas those who earns a small amount of salary, would tend to want to earn more for their families, thus preferring not to have the 5 day work week scheme</span>.<br /><br />Despite the many joys and many woes of the 5 day work week, life still has to go on.
